New Videos & Upcoming Shows

The New Old-Fashioned is excited to announce a brand new series of videos!

Back in June, the band made the short trip up to Popside Recording in Troy (where we recorded Low-Down Dirty Summer Nights) to take part in a pretty awesome project. Don Thrasher and Rusty Pate of TreblePhonic asked us to participate in their “TreblePhonic Presents…” video series, which has already featured some great artists from Dayton and beyond, including the Repeating Arms, Cricketbows, Tod Weidner and Paige Beller.

Well, the first two videos are here for your viewing pleasure, and they turned out great! Watch our performance of “Home” live in the studio below. The videos also contain interviews with Don and Rusty; in this one we discuss the inspiration, composition and recording of "Home," as well as the formation of the band and our pre-TNOF past together.

In the second video, we discuss how a Who concert and an offhand comment led to Matt's entrance into the band. We also perform "27" and talk about constructing that song's vocal bridge. Watch out for the close-up of Tommy's bare feet!

And finally, here's "Words." During the interview section, we talk a little about our first show, open up about our drinking habits and, well, get a little goofy.

Be sure to head over to TreblePhonic to view more of their excellent videos! Also, stay tuned to our website and Facebook page - more videos are coming in the very near future.

We’ve got two shows in the Dayton area this weekend: first, we’ll be continuing our string of annual performances at the Greene County Fair (four more years!) on Friday evening
. Our great friend Charlie Jackson will be kicking things off with an acoustic outlaw country set; we’ll follow at 8 p.m. If you’re in the Xenia area on Friday, come out and enjoy some music and some fried cheese on a stick.

Following on Saturday, we’re heading over to Dayton for the Fifth Annual Buckeye Backroads Summer Jam at Buckeye Harley Davidson. We’re happy to support the Swon Brothers and Mack McKenzie, and proceeds from the event go to The Dayton Children’s Hospital and K99.1 FM Cares for Kids Radiothon. Tickets are available via Buckeye Harley Davidson; come out and help us support a great cause!

Although shows are slowing down just a tad over the next month or so, we have more on the horizon. Follow us right here or Facebook or Twitter for regular updates, videos and show announcements!
